He is Faithful

I give thanks to God for the privilege to serve in First Baptist Church since 2012. Though I was fresh out of seminary with little to no experience of being a pastor, the church graciously extended their hand of partnership and enthusiasm to make the Gospel of Jesus Christ known among young people.

Through First Baptist, I have had the joy and privilege to reach out to so many different communities of young people; from the Youth of suburban Subang Jaya to Orang Asli of Perak, Sabah and Sarawak. I give thanks to the many opportunities to serve young people through the many ways FBC reaches out to them: Salt of Subang Youth, The Boys’ Brigade, Makarios Home and the street feeding efforts, even being so supportive to school Christian fellowships, through which I have had the joy of speaking to over 500 young people at the Subang Rally Conference.

Even through apologetics, First Baptist had been the source of unweathering support in availing the space and hospitality to have a debate with atheists, which more than 400 people attended!

First Baptist have also been the bedrock of support for my family. We are overwhelmed by the support, encouragement, prayer and care that has been given to us as we serve the Lord together. My wife has been encouraged by the fellowship from fellow women of God and my daughter is learning more about God every Sunday School class. We pray that we may continue to grow in Christ together.

In First Baptist, we the church have laughed and cried together. We have laughed at every happy moment in Youth Camps and Vacation Bible Schools, marriages and new arrivals. We also have cried through the loss of loved ones and through the struggles of growing in Christ in this ever complicating sinful world. Now as reaching to young people become more complicated and the needs grow, I have been compelled to take the race for the Gospel to the frontlines where the battle for our Young People are: in schools through the Boys’ Brigade and in universities and workplaces through Explain Apologetics. I am thankful that the Church has supported me and my family in prayer and encouragement to take the bold step for this season for the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom through the Boys’ Brigade National Headquarters, and to give reason for the hope that we have in Christ Jesus through Explain Apologetics.

A blessed anniversary to me and my family’s spiritual home. My family and I look forward to witnessing many more years of His faithfulness.
